PERRYSBURG - A Findlay man was arrested early Wednesday in a high-speed chase with a state trooper that began near the city and at times topped more than 140 miles per hour.
According to Lt. Jerrod Savidge, commander of the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, at 2:30 a.m. a trooper was patrolling at the I-75/I-475 split when he encountered a motorcycle, with a passenger on the back, which had no license plate and no taillight. The trooper attempted to catch the bike, which was soon traveling at more than 100 miles per hour.
The trooper then activated his lights and the vehicle fled south.
The chase at times reached speeds in excess of 140 miles per hour.
The bike subsequently exited I-75 at the Van Buren Exit, and then headed east onto Ohio 613 before turning onto County Road 257 in Hancock County, near Fostoria.
