The public libraries in Bowling Green, Wayne and Perrysburg have set activities to celebrate National Library Week, April 14-20.
Readers, aspiring writers, and library lovers are invited to celebrate the week with special guest, author and librarian Jo Dereske, who will visit the Wood County District Public Library on Tuesday and Wednesday,
In addition to a popular crime fiction series which features amateur sleuth and the librarian's librarian, Helma Zukas, Dereske is also the author of several books for younger readers. Dereske is a native of Michigan who now resides in Washington state.
WCDPL has several events planned during Dereske's visit. At 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dereske will talk about the importance of libraries, and about her career as an author in the library's Atrium. On Wednesday, Dereske will be the guest of honor at a brown bag lunch starting at noon in the first floor meeting room. Desserts and beverages will be provided for the lunch by the Friends of the Library.
