The bride-to-be is a 2002 graduate of Maumee Valley Country Day School, Toledo, and a 2006 graduate of Oberlin College where she received a degree (with honors) in art history. She is completing a Ph.D. at City University of New York, New York City.
Abbott-Klafter is a 2002 graduate of Brookline High School, Brookline, Mass., and a 2006 graduate of Oberlin College. He received a master's degree from Stanford University, California in 2012 and is employed as a teacher in New York City where he was instrumental in starting an entrepreneurial student-run business co-op that designs and produces apparel for the New York City schools.
