A Wood Lane client accused of rape has been found competent to stand trial.
Steven Chamberlin, 26, Bowling Green, was declared competent after a hearing in the court of Wood County Judge Alan Mayberry on Friday.
Chamberlin is charged with rape involving a 9-year-old boy that allegedly occurred between Nov. 1 and Dec. 31, 2004. Chamberlin was 17 at the time of the incidents. He was indicted in December, 2012.
According to court documents, Chamberlin underwent two competency evaluations. Both reports found him to be competent, and they were submitted to the court at Friday's hearing.
