PEMBERVILLE - Two village police officers were recognized Tuesday night for their efforts last month that helped saved the life of a citizen.
On Aug. 3 Sgt. Jason Kwapich and officer Chris Timm administered CPR to the resident until the Pemberville-Freedom EMS arrived to treat the man and transport him to Wood County Hospital.
During the village council meeting Mayor Gordon Bowman read a letter of appreciation from the village, a copy of which will be placed in each of their personnel files. At the time of the incident Kwapich was a part-time officer and Timm was a sergeant. Timm has since resigned that position to become a full-time officer in Lake Township, and remains a part-time officer in Pemberville. Kwapich was promoted to sergeant earlier this month.
