PERRYSBURG — Perrysburg’s offense was able to finish its chances in the second half on the way to a 4-1 win over Northview Wednesday.
The Yellow Jackets girls soccer team held a 1-0 lead at the half. Sophomore midfielder Josie Fowler assisted on all three goals in the second half to help Perrysburg improve to 2-0, both overall and in the Northern Lakes League.
‘‘The kids knew that they were playing well in the first half. They were possessing the ball well, they were making good runs,’’ said Perrysburg co-head coach Margaret Bernard. ‘‘It really just takes the players to step up, and make it happen; finish off what you are doing well.
‘‘We’re not asking them to do anything they all don’t have the capabilities of doing. It’s just settling in, getting comfortable, and playing their game.’’
Junior forward Allex Brown said that the second-half motivation comes from Bernard and co-head coach Jorge Diaz.
‘‘(They) definitely get that spark back in us at halftime,’’ Brown said. ‘‘It seems kind of odd, because you should start out strong. But it’s always them that definitely sparks us up, and we come out stronger in the second half.’’
