PERRYSBURG — Mistakes took away any chance for Perrysburg to knock off defending state runner-up Toledo Whitmer on Friday night at Steinecker Stadium.
A botched kick return and two interceptions led to easy scores for Whitmer as it spoiled Perrysburg’s home-opener 42-25 before a near-capacity crowd.
“I didn’t like the mistakes,” said Perrysburg head coach Matt Kregel. “You can’t give Whitmer three scores.”
