ROSSFORD —Rossford scored two touchdowns in the first quarter and then held on for a 13-7 win over Bowling Green Friday night, in the season-opener for both teams.
‘‘We’re playing with a lot of guys who haven’t played before. It doesn’t matter if it’s by one point, a win is a win, and I’m proud of our guys,’’ Rossford head coach Todd Drusback said. ‘‘What I like is the fight, the emotion, and the resiliency.’’
Scott Seeliger, in his first game as BG’s head coach, said he did not have his team ready to play.
‘‘I didn’t have them ready in a lot of little things,’’ Seeliger said. ‘‘It’s a lot of coaching. We called some bad plays, and put some kids in bad situations.
‘‘We started the game out slow, and we can’t do that,’’ Seeliger added. ‘‘We have to get them ready, feeling good, and feeling aggressive right from the first snap.’’
