TOLEDO - A man was arraigned in U.S. court Monday on federal gun charges for an incident occurring in Wood County earlier this year.
Patrick L. Hammond, 42, Lorain, was arraigned before Magistrate Judge Vernelis Armstrong in U.S. District Court of Toledo.
According to the criminal complaint, on June 20 Hammond was driving on Interstate 280 near the Ohio Turnpike in Wood County when he was stopped by a Ohio Highway Patrol trooper for a traffic violation.
After an exchange with the trooper, Hammond was asked to exit the vehicle, and reportedly ran and dropped a bag containing a .38 caliber revolver. He was later located by Lake Township Police on June 21 and arrested.
