FOSTORIA - A Toledo man charged with aggravated murder in connection with the shooting of two Fostoria women is awaiting an extradition hearing to be brought back to northwest Ohio after fleeing from police for nearly a day.
Calvin Dixson, 37, initially remained at large Monday morning but was later arrested in Cleveland.
Dixson was wanted after allegedly shooting an ex-girlfriend and her mother while they were sitting in a vehicle on Bannister Street in Fostoria at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Police believed he had fled to either the Cleveland area or Perrysburg, where his mother is a resident.
Fostoria Police Capt. Dan Dell said Dixson was believed to be staying at a camper in Cleveland on Monday when officers saw him drive by. They apprehended Dixson, hiding in the attic of an abandoned building, after a short chase on foot, he said.
