The Ohio State Highway Patrol has reported that more than 46 percent of the felony cases it's handled through June of this year have been drug related.
More than 40 of the patrol's 1,237 felony drug cases filed this year have occurred in Wood County. Over 2,685 felony cases in total have been filed.
The largest number of drug cases, at 99, was reported in Franklin County, with Scioto County (59), Cuyahoga County (55), and Lorain County (54) following.
"Every day our troopers are out on the road removing felons and drugs out of our communities," said Col. John Born, Patrol superintendent. "Taking the time to look for criminal indicators can go a long way towards a safer Ohio."
