Four defendants recently sentenced in Wood County Common Pleas Court will serve more than five years in prison for their offenses.
Michael George, 31, pleaded guilty to a count of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, occurring Feb. 22, and was sentenced to 30 months in prison. He will also have his driver's license suspended for a period of 10 years following his release. He was given credit for 140 days in jail calculated by the Wood County Sheriff.
The 30-month sentence is to be served consecutively to a two-year term George is currently serving in Richland County. He will also face three years of post-release community control sanctions.
Amanda Torres, 25, Toledo, was sentenced to 11 months in prison on charges of breaking and entering, receiving stolen property, and two counts of failure to appear. A total of four 11-month sentences were imposed, but the sentences are to run concurrent to one another. She will also face three years of community control sanctions.
