Marijuana, money seized on turnpike worth millions
MILLBURY – Six men are facing felony drug charges after the Ohio Highway Patrol seized 907 pounds of marijuana, worth more than $4.1 million, and $13,908 in currency during two related traffic stops Wednesday in Wood County.
A trooper working the Ohio Turnpike saw a rented 2014 Subaru Outback and motor home following another vehicle too closely.
Arrested were Frankie Layz, 22, and William Luciano Jr., 33, both of Rochester, NY, who were in the Subaru; and motor home occupants Justin Gould, 27, Rochester; Jimmy Pross Jr., 35, Charlotte, NC; and Jose Manzanares, 36, Houston, Texas.
All were taken to Wood County Jail and charged with possession of marijuana and trafficking in marijuana, money laundering, and possession of criminal tools.
