As Earth Day approaches, several community organizations have partnered to sponsor events and activities dedicated to environmental stewardship and awareness. The week of activities will culminate in a community "Earth First" celebration on April 21 at Bowling Green City Park.
Although there is no cost to participate in the following activities, registration is needed for some events so that organizers may be better prepared to contact participants with changes due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. To register for a program, call (419) 353-1897 or (800) 321-1897 or visit www.wcparks.org.
The week's events start Monday with park cleanup and garlic mustard removal at the Wood County Historical Center from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Storm drain stenciling is Tuesday at Kiwanis Shelter in City Park from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Eco Fair, in front of Bowen-Thompson Student Union, is Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
