Lightning knocks out power in BG
A section of northwest Bowling Green was without electricity for a little over one hour Wednesday night.
Director of Utilities Brian O'Connell said a lightning strike near Poe and Mitchell roads tripped off the Poe Road substation.
He said two other outages that affected a small number of customers were also caused by lightning strikes.

Bowling Green Parks and Recreation is hosting a public meeting to share information, updates, plans and answer any questions about the brand new City Pool and Waterpark opening this summer.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Bowling Green Community Center Classroom A/B.
Season passes will go on sale beginning on April 20 to Bowling Green residents and May 18 to non residents.
