LaVoy striving to enhance résumé (03-29-13)

LUCKEY - Aricka LaVoy has had an impressive career as a member of Eastwood's track and field team.
The senior still is striving to enhance her already impressive résumé.
LaVoy is the two-time league champion in the long jump and the defending Northern Buckeye Conference champion in the 200.
She was a four-event regional qualifier last season and is a returning state qualifier in the 400 relay.
"I just want to keep improving and improve on what I did last season," LaVoy said.
The long jump is LaVoy's speciality.
LaVoy's goals are to quality for the Division II state meet and break the Eastwood record in the long jump
Her best is 16-10 3/4 at the NBC meet last season. The school record of 17-4 was set in 1993 by Jessica Nietz.
LaVoy also won the long jump at the Suburban Lakes League meet in 2011.
"Getting to state would be great because it's ultimate event in our sport," LaVoy said.
LaVoy also has a personal best of 26.58 in the 200.
