PERRYSBURG - City school board member Barry Van Hoozen is seeking election to city council.
Van Hoozen confirmed Wednesday that he will be running for a seat on the city's governing body.
Van Hoozen, who has served as school board president, most recently in 2012, and operates a State Farm Insurance business in the city, was last re-elected to the board during the 2011 election.
The Wood County Board of Elections said Wednesday, however, that no papers have as yet been filed by any candidate for the council race. Van Hoozen, in an e-mail, stated that he is collecting signatures for his petition.
