The League of Women Voters of Bowling Green is hosting a public forum titled "Urban Agriculture: Changing the World One Garden at a Time" on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the Wood County District Public Library, 251 N. Main Street.
The speaker is Matthew Ross, a faculty member in the science department at Owens Community College. He will talk about the history of urban agriculture, what other communities are doing, what Owens is doing at the Robert J. Anderson Training Facility in Toledo, and what people can possibly do in their own backyards.
OCC's Urban Agriculture and Sustainability Certificate Program is Northwest Ohio's first academic opportunity to teach students and residents to grow, maintain, harvest, store, and distribute local produce and animal products.
