Local residents are being asked to help fill backpacks with school supplies for children in need.
For the ninth year, Bowling Green State University students in the Academic Investment in Math & Science Program and University Honors Program are supporting the Wood County Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children by collecting school supplies.
CASA advocates for the best interest of abused, neglected and dependent children. Often children in the program are placed in a guardianship and the means are not available to purchase school supplies.
So the BGSU student groups are asking the community to help fill 65 backpacks with new or slightly used school supplies.
