‘‘We still have to continue to work on both ends of the floor, but it was definitely a step in the right direction,’’ BG head coach Louis Orr said.
The Falcons conclude play in the Cancun Challenge Wednesday against Oral Roberts or Georgia Southern at 4 p.m. The games are being played at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya.
The Presbyterian Blue Hose made just 15 baskets while shooting 30.6 percent from the field.
‘‘The defense was the difference,’’ Orr said. ‘‘I thought we did a good job on their three best players.’’
Reggie Dillard, William Truss, and Jordan Downing were a combined 11-of-37 from the field for the Blue Hose.
‘‘We were able to turn defense into offense, and convert off turnovers,’’ Orr said. ‘‘We had 18 points off turnovers, and eight fast-break points.’’
The Falcons led from the start, shooting 56.9 percent from the field for the game.
BG scored the first seven points of the game and the Blue Hose did not score a field goal until there was 12:09 remaining in the first half.
Bowling Green continued to get the ball inside, and hit mid-range jumpers to take a 33-19 lead at the half.
Presbyterian scored the first five points of the second half, but the Falcons pushed their lead back to 13, 46-33, on a three-point play from Spencer Parker with 12:57 left in the game.
‘‘It was good to see that we could answer,’’ Orr said.
The Falcons would widen their lead to 24 points, 65-41, with 3:46 left to play. The teams then traded points the rest of the way as the Falcons secured the 22-point win.
Anthony Henderson scored a career-high 17 points, hitting on 7-of-11 hits from the field, for the Falcons.
Also for BG: Cameron Black posted a double-double of 12 points and a career-high 14 rebounds; Parker had 12 points; Richaun Holmes had 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting; and Jehvon Clarke just missed a double-double finishing with 10 points and nine assists.
‘‘We did a better job sharing the ball,’’ Orr said. ‘‘We had 17 assists on 29 baskets.’’

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Falcons, now 2-3 overall. The Blue Hose are 1-6.
Presbyterian College is located in Clinton, S.C. and its enrollment as of last fall was 1,172 undergraduate students.
