CUSTAR - A Wednesday shooting in the village that sent one man to a Toledo hospital may be related to a recent home foreclosure.
Thomas J. Boyer, 53, Custar, was arrested on a charge of attempted murder after reportedly shooting William Henry Morris, 42, Rutland, with a shotgun outside of Boyer's residence, 22743 Defiance Pike. Morris was taken to University of Toledo Medical Center via air ambulance and was listed in serious condition yesterday. An update to his condition was not available this morning. He sustained a single shotgun wound to the back, and only one shot was reportedly fired in the incident.
Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn said this morning that Morris is believed to be an employee with a bank. Boyer's residence, valued at $42,000, is scheduled for a sheriff's sale on Jan. 2.
