Good teams learn from defeats.
Dave Clawson hopes the Bowling Green Falcon football team can put the lessons learned in a 42-10 loss last week to Indiana to good use this week.
The Falcons host Murray State Saturday with kickoff at 3:30 p.m. in Perry Stadium. Both teams are 2-1.
‘‘The key this week was getting things cleaned up fundamentally, just having better attention to detail in those critical situations,’’ Clawson said.
Clawson said he took approximately 30 clips of film, covering offense, defense and special teams, to illustrate problems the Falcons had against Indiana.
‘‘They were certainly things we were capable of doing, but we didn’t do them,’’ Clawson said.
Clawson said the Falcons have good, veteran players and he expects them to bounce back this week.
Taylor Royster, a defensive tackle for the Falcons, said it wasn’t hard for the defense to get ready for practice this week.
‘‘We know we can play better than that; we just didn’t execute the way we were supposed to,’’ Royster said. ‘‘We know what we have to do, and we focus on that going out to the practice field.’’
