BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Paul Senn make his place in Bowling Green State University football history Saturday at Indiana.
A junior college transfer from Riverside (Calif.) Community College, Senn is in his first season with the Falcons. He is a linebacker and special teams performer.
In the opening quarter, the Falcons put on the punt block and Senn was able to grab the ball in mid-kick off the foot of IU’s Erich Toth.
“I wasn’t actually designed to block the punt. ... I saw a chance and I took it,’’ said Senn. “Right when I blocked it, I felt it in my hands, and I just keep running.’’
Senn was credited with a 56-yard return on the blocked punt.
Senn said IU showed a different formation than the Falcons expected.
‘‘We got something a little different, scheme-wise,’’ Senn said,
“We needed big plays against a Big Ten team, and that’s what I was trying to do.”
