Opal Mae "Cross" Smith 83, of Napoleon passed away Friday September 13, 2013 at Golden Living Center Northcrest.
Born on April 21, 1930 to David Edwin William Cross and Edith Rebecca "Forney" Cross in Putnam Co. Opal graduated from Continental High School. She then married the late Richard Smith on August 17, 1949.
Survived by her children Richard "Rick" (Cathy) Smith of Bath Michigan, and Judy (Dean) VandenBroek of Bowling Green Ohio. Grandmother of Chris and Kevin Smith, Keith, Nicholas and Heather VandenBroek, and also several nieces and nephews.
Opal was a receptionist at Defiance Clinic, and also worked at Rite Aid in Napoleon. She was a member of the VFW Post #8218, American Legion Post #300 and Moose Lodge Post Napoleon.
