A Michigan man shot during a burglary in Perrysburg Township has pleaded guilty in the courtroom of Wood County Court of Common Pleas Judge Alan Mayberry.
James Scott Newman, 39, Grand Rapids, Mich., changed his earlier plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty to two counts of burglary, two counts of disrupting public services, one count of safecracking, one count of possessing criminal tools, two counts of identity theft, and one count each of obstructing official business and tampering with evidence.
Newman made the plea on Aug. 30.
Sentencing will take place on Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. in Mayberry's court. A three-day jury trial had originally been set to begin on Monday.
