Ron Wickenheiser, of Temperance, Mich., carves what will be a bear cub’s head out of an old Poplar tree Wednesday at Moline-Meadows Park in Moline. Wickenheiser will spend about 10 hours carving an eagle, bear cub, and a raccoon in honor of the Boy Scouts who have a strong presence in the Moline area. The work is being donated by Ron Sims, who is a Lake Township trustee. The park will be dedicated later this fall. (Photo: J.D. Pooley/Sentinel-Tribune)
