Third person surrenders in BG kidnap, robbery

A third person wanted in connection with the Aug. 19 kidnapping and robbery of a Chinese exchange student in the city has surrendered.
The Bowling Green Police Division reported that Blake Long, 21, Toledo, turned himself in to Bowling Green Municipal court this afternoon. He was wanted on charges of aggravated robbery and kidnapping.
The fourth and final suspect, Nicholas Martinez, 19, Toledo, remains at large.
Two other suspects – Brittany Long, 20, also of Toledo and Blake Long’s sister; and Hui Zang, 23, Toledo – were previously arrested on similar charges.
The student, who attends the University of Toledo, was allegedly contacted by Zang online about a trip to Cedar Point, and was picked up by the group in Toledo. He was then driven to a vacant house in Bowling Green and robbed at knife-point.
The group later attempted unsuccessfully to extort ransom money from the victim’s relatives in China, but were unable to do so due to a language barrier.
The victim was later released unharmed.
