PERRYSBURG - The Perrysburg Police Division is warning residents to be vigilant after a rash of car break-ins in the city.
A press release from the police division indicated that a number of thefts from vehicles have taken place throughout the city, and that "the vast majority of these thefts have been committed during the nighttime hours from vehicles that have been left unlocked by the vehicle owners."
These thefts often are crimes of opportunity that may be prevented by employing some cautionary measures, the report indicated
Suggestions from the police for how to combat these thefts include:
•    Ensure that car doors are locked every night, even when parked in a driveway or garage.
•    Never leave anything of value unattended in a vehicle that might appeal to persons committing these thefts.
