ROSSFORD - Mike Scott announced at Monday's City Council meeting that he would be stepping down from council as of Aug. 31.
Scott is leaving council to join the board of Northwestern Water and Sewer District. He cannot serve on both boards.
His term expires at the end of the year. Scott told council he'd already decided not to run for re-election.
Scott was praised by members of council and Mayor Neil MacKinnon for his service.
Councilwoman Caroline Eckel noted he took on assignments beyond what is usually expected of members of council.
