Lake Twp. feud over fires heating up

MILLBURY - Where there's smoke, there's fire, and apparently an irate neighbor.
Lemoyne Road resident Robert Cline told the Lake Township Trustees at Tuesday's meeting that he is exasperated with his neighbor, who keeps calling the fire department when he starts a fire for cooking in his backyard.
Cline said after he started a fire in September, the neighbor called 911 and said the house was engulfed. The whole Lake Township Fire Department responded.
"I just want to roast some hamburgs and marshmallows in peace," he said.
After having an official from the Environmental Protection Agency come out to his home, Cline said he believes he is allowed to have a fire. He also said the Ohio Revised Code allows him to have a recreational fire for cooking, heating or religious reasons.
