BOSTON - Former Bowling Green Falcon hockey coach Jerry York will have surgery today to repair a detached retina in his right eye.
York, currently the head coach of fifth-ranked Boston College, was not on the bench Saturday night for his team's win over Vermont that completed a sweep of the best-of-3 Hockey East quarterfinal series.
He coached the Eagles during their Game 1 victory Friday, but experienced vision problems Saturday morning.
The surgery will be York's second for a detached retina this year and each time it has been to his right eye. He missed four games in January.
No timetable has been set for his return.
