The Wood County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a series of scams and identity thefts.
In Bloomdale on Feb. 25, a resident reported receiving a bank inquiry asking if she was using her debit card in Georgia. As she was not, the bank declined the transaction and the card was canceled. In checking later, she discovered charges posted on Feb. 23 and 24 totaling $273.
In rural Bowling Green, a resident on Feb. 26 reported she received a phone call from a male claiming to be her grandson. She stated that she told him she did not have a grandson and the man disconnected the call.
On March 9, a Pemberville resident reported he located a vehicle on Craigslist.
