The Yellow Jackets are striving to reap the benefits of their work this season.
They return five players from last season when they finished 7-3 overall and 5-0 in the Northern Lakes League, and tied for second in the league's overall standings.
Among the returnees are senior and four-year letter winner Monica Dorner, the medalist in the NLL tournament and a first-team all-league pick last season; and sophomore Katie Diehl, a third-team All-NLL honoree last season.
Even though the Yellow Jackets had a successful season last fall, they were coming off NLL overall and tournament championships in 2011.
The overall championship is determined from points awarded for each dual-match win and a team's finish in the league tournament.
The Yellow Jackets also advanced to the district tournament in 2011, but graduated five of the top six players from that team.
