One of the organizers of the drive Robert Densic reported that the group has collected close to 400 signatures. The drive needed 275, or 10 percent of the votes cast in the last election.
The petitions have been submitted to the city.
City Administrator Ed Ciecka says no city action is required. The city simply holds the petitions for 10 days, and then deliver them to the Board of Elections.
The board will then review the signatures to determine their validity. If there are enough valid signatures, Rossford residents will vote on the matter on Nov. 5.
After years of debate, complaint and study involving the regional transportation system, city council voted in June to stick with the system.
