LIME CITY - Wood County Safe Communities will hold a Teen Texting Safety Day at the Wood County Fair Thursday from 12 to 7 p.m.
The event, sponsored by the Bowling Green Police Division and the Perrysburg Township Police Department, will allow teens to experience texting and driving via an online simulator to gauge their reaction times while being distracted.
Ohio SADD will also be on hand to promote the "What Do You Consider Lethal" program, as well as Wood County Educational Service Center's "Mr. B. Cool."
AT&T, Verizon and Sprint will also be available sharing their "Put Down the Phone and Make it Home" program, supporting apps and products.
Other coalition partners will be on site to help promote the dangers of distracted driving.
