GRAND RAPIDS - The 100th Jeffers family reunion was held Sunday at the Otsego Park stone shelter. It always takes place on the last Sunday of July.
Nearly 100 family members attended the milestone reunion from Utah, Nevada, Michigan, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Ohio.
T-shirts were ordered for this occasion, with a tree design done by Jenifer Long-Fritz.
Looking back at the family tree, the earlier generations had 9 to 12 children in each family. Today, the families are much smaller. The group felt the larger families were needed to help run the family business.
There was a potluck meal and a white elephant bingo game.
