With a new school year approaching, applications for children birth to 4 years old are now being accepted at each of the nine preschool centers operated by WSOS. The centers located in Wood County include Genoa, Port Clinton, Fremont, Clyde, Pemberville, Bowling Green, and Perrysburg/Rossford.
Options available to parents who enroll their children at WSOS include full- and half-day classes and/or home visitation services. Those children who cannot be served at a center can be served through the home-based/home-visitation program. Services are also available at some centers for babies and toddlers through the Early Head Start program.
The WSOS Head Start/Early Childhood program is a comprehensive early childhood and family program. The program provides early childhood education, which is complemented by nutrition/health services for the child, and social services for the entire family. Families, who enroll in the program, benefit by having access to a variety of community resources, diverse parent education programs, and other social services that can assist the family to become self-sufficient.
