Bowling Green Schools and its classified staff union have reached a one-year contract agreement.
The school board approved the agreement with the Ohio Association of Public School Employees Chapter 311 at Tuesday's meeting. Union members ratified the agreement July 11.
Forty-five of the 90 union members cast votes, according to union President Mike Canterbury.
The vote was not unanimous, but it was close, he said.
"Most of our members are out working right now," he said in explaining the turnout. "Most of them have the summer off."
The contract has members paying a higher premium for health insurance, as well as a pay freeze for the life of the contract, Canterbury said.
He did not provide specifics on the health insurance increase.
No one on the school board's negotiating team was available to comment.
