Innovation and economic development were the subject of discussions between U.S. Rep. Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) and Swiss Ambassador Manuel Sager as they toured Northwest Ohio businesses and schools Monday.
Starting at Owens-Illinois in Perrysburg, the two also visited Owens Community College, Loudes University in Sylvania, and Campbell Soup in Napoleon.
While visiting research and development labs during their first stop, Latta and Sager heard from O-I engineers and executives about how the company works to produce stronger glassware.
Latta reported the presence of Swiss companies have led to 10,000 jobs across the state. He said he invited Sager to the area when the two met several months ago “to show him what we do here.”
