John Lawrence Ickes, 63, of Findlay, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Bowling Green. He was born on November 29, 1949, in Fremont, to the late Oscar and Freda (Herr) Ickes.
John is survived by his sons: Tracy Ickes of Bairdstown and Mark Ickes of Cygnet; his daughters: Kelly (David) Fenstermaker of North Baltimore, Krisi (Troy) Biddle of Findlay and Melissa (Jason) Breece of Deshler; his step-sons: Rodney Hall of Bowling Green and Randy (Paula) Hall of Wayne; his step-daughter, Melissa (Donnie) Zeigler of Wayne; his brother, James (Tammi) Ickes of Findlay; his sisters: Judy Noel and Jeannie Fraley, both of Findlay; his 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Ickes.
John retired from Cooper Standard in Bowling Green, and was a 1968 graduate of Elmwood High School. He was a former Son's Commander with the Amvets Post 21 in Findlay, and a member of the F.O.E. #2118, and the North Baltimore American Legion Post 539.
