Friends of Wood County Court Appointed Special Advocates Board has received a grant for $3,994 from the Toledo Community Foundation.
The funds will be used to provide volunteers with up-to-date training tools, by sending five volunteers to the 2013 Ohio CASA Conference.
The conference will include more than 43 workshops over a three-day period. The topics include "Evidence-Based Treatments for Youth," "Ethics and Professionalism," "Awareness of Resources for Teens," and "A Judge's Expectations of a CASA/GAL."
