The vacancy was created by the resignation of Greg Robinette, effective today. Robinette submitted his resignation letter Friday.
The replacement will fill the post through Dec. 31 of this year when the term expires. In his resignation letter Robinette suggested his replacement not come from those who are not on the November ballot.
In announcing it was seeking applicants, council did not establish any such restriction. The only restrictions are that candidates must be at least age 18, be a resident of the Fourth Ward and be prepared to briefly address council at the July meeting.
Qualified citizens may submit their interest in the council post by submitting information to Clerk of Council Kay Scherreik via e-mail at kscherreik@bgohio.org or by mail at City Administrative Services Building, 304 N. Church St.
Robinette was one of two Republican members of council.
