A high-speed stolen vehicle chase Friday evening that started in Sylvania Township and ended in Oregon dipped into northern Wood County.
The State Highway Patrol reported a trooper tried to stop a black Honda Civic for a speed violation on King Road and Central Avenue in Sylvania Township at 7:41 p.m. Friday. The vehicle fled the attempted stop at a high rate of speed before the driver made his way to the expressway.
From there, the driver, Duane Curtis, 33, of Toledo, continued from I-475 to I-75 and onto I-280. He then allegedly pulled over on Woodville Road and fled on foot. He was apprehended a short time later at his residence, the patrol said.
