PEMBERVILLE - A new water heater has kept the village pool comfortable during cool weather since the facility opened last weekend.
Manager Nathan Decker told village council Tuesday night that attendance has been "OK" and that the water temperature was 80 degrees. That's up from 58 degrees when the pool was filed and he was doing some work in the cold water.
"The pool has had a lot of help from the village utility department, the street department and others to get going," Mayor Gordon Bowman said. "We're looking for a good pool season."
Bowman noted the new heater is the result of a grant received in late 2012 from the Wood County Park District.
He has two projects to propose for 2013 park grants and asked council to make other suggestions by the June 18 meeting. Applications are due at the end of June.
