Hope, confidence and caring are three words that embody Look Good Feel Better, a program that celebrates women and their cancer journey. The next session will be held June 13 at 6 p.m. at Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green.
The program is a collaboration of the American Cancer Society, the Personal Care Products Council Foundation and the National Cosmetology Association/Professional Beauty Association.
During the program, volunteer cosmetologists educate cancer patients with step by step make-up techniques, hairstyling, head wraps, and nail tips. Each woman gets a donated makeup kit to use during and after the workshop.
The session is free, and while no medical advice is offered, Look Good Feel Better programs help deliver courage, confidence, community and caring to each participant. The program has a solid history of helping women with cancer improve their self-esteem and manage their cancer treatment and recovery through workshops, practical tips and guidance.
