Bernard J. "Bernie" Scott, of Tontogany, was one of four people recently selected to be inducted into the Ohio Agricultural Hall of Fame during a special breakfast ceremony to be held in the Rhodes Youth Center at the Ohio Expo Center on Aug. 2. The 48th annual event will attract approximately 500 guests to honor these four professionals for their lifetime of service and dedication to Ohio agriculture.
According to the release from the Ohio Agricultural Council, Scott has dedicated more than 37 years to the advancement of agriculture by teaching hundreds of students through agricultural education at Otsego High School.
"It's awesome," he said of the honor.
Scott added, "It is a little un-nerving for me to see my name mentioned and to soon be enshrined with names of people, that were once my agricultural heroes like Harold and Richard Anderson, Louis Bromfield, Bobby Moser, Earl Kantner, Jim Dugan, Ed Johnson, Bob Evans, and even A. B. Graham."
Despite all of Scott's achievements over the years, he is really not one to seek the spotlight, but it does seem to find him.
