Coaches are always going to find things to work on, even after a convincing victory.
Jennifer Roos is no different and the first-year coach of Bowling Green State University’s women’s basketball team was probably watching film of Sunday’s 73-52 win over Ohio late into the night in preparation for Wednesday’s regular-season finale at Kent State.
However, Roos was smiling after the game for the four Falcon seniors who went out on a high note in their last regular-season game at the Stroh Center.
‘‘There’s just not enough words out there that I can say to thank them for their efforts throughout the four years,’’ Roos said. ‘‘They have been great people, very good leaders and we’ll miss them.’’
Three of the four seniors — Danielle Havel, Allison Papenfuss and Chrissy Steffen — have appeared in every game this season with Havel and Steffen starting each game and Papenfuss coming off the bench.
All three were recognized with cheers, hugs and congratulations for their efforts for the last four years.
The biggest show of emotion was reserved for Simone Eli, who came to Bowling Green as a walk-on and later earned a scholarship. She has been plagued by injuries the last two seasons, but was cleared by her doctor on Friday to play on Sunday. She had knee surgery in December.
